Job Summary: As a Representative for Drug & Health Services Operations,
you will perform drug screen collections following DOT or non-DOT related specimen collections guidelines. Ensures chain of custody form is completed correctly. Responds to donors/customers in a timely and professional manner.
Essential Functions:
Performs breath alcohol testing using intoximeters such as the Alco-Sensor IV and RBT IV, following DOT alcohol testing guidelines.
Performs hair collections following Psychemedics guidelines.
Informs the Service Center Manager of all unusual circumstances surrounding all tests performed.
Carries a mobile phone for scheduled time periods and performs after-hours emergency drug and alcohol testing when needed.
Travels and performs drug and alcohol testing off site when needed.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Average % of time split among daily duties
Responsibility
70% Collect specimens (urine, hair, oral fluid) for workplace drug and alcohol tests that may be DOT or non-DOT related. This includes pre-employment, random, annual, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty and follow-up drug testing. May perform Point-of-Care testing as needed.
10% Completes forms and documents information following standard procedures. Verifies donor ID and follows testing protocol depending on the type of testing completed. Ensures chain-of-custody compliance and notes irregularities identified. May follow union reciprocal and non-reciprocal procedures and protocol.
10% Greets donors, and visitors upon arrival in the waiting room of the collection area. May screen donors for medical history and/or visitors prior to entry. Ensures cleanliness of collection rooms and sanitizes areas as needed. May stock and organize collection rooms and add bluing agent to toilets.
5% Provide donors with additional detailed instructions when the following scenarios arise:
§Direct observe collection
§Test refusals
§Shy bladders
§Urine specimen not in temperature range
§Specimen unacceptable due to physical characteristics
5% Assist others with projects in down time. May perform other incidental duties as needed.
In Office Role.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Willing to train the right candidate.
DOT Certified Urine Specimen Collector or must obtain certification within two (2) weeks from date of hire.
DOT EBT (Evidential Breath Testing) Certified or must obtain certification within two (2) weeks from date of hire.
Hair Collection Training Certificate or must obtain within thirty (30) days from date of hire. Nurse Assistant, Medical Technician, Phlebotomy or other related certifications.
Excellent customer service skills
Must be detail oriented.
Male candidate required as to directly observe male specimen collections.
Educational Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Prior experience in a clinic or drug testing industry is preferred but not required.
Experience in drug testing, breath alcohol testing, pulmonary function testing or fit testing applications.
Certifications in the medical field are helpful, but not required.
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Office Suite.
Prior customer service experience is helpful.
Bilingual. English speaking is required. Bilingual - Spanish speaking is helpful.
DISAWorks® system experience.
