Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Weld Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in fabricating and modifying metal parts and components from blueprints or 3D data, using various fabrication equipment, and welding from different positions to achieve proper strength and appearance. This role requires a proactive individual who can work independently with minimal supervision and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and/or modify metal parts and components from blueprints or 3D data.
• Use saw, shear, metal brake, oxygen/acetylene torch, grinder, and other fabrication equipment.
• Read and understand blueprints and schematics.
• Select proper equipment and set voltage and wire feed settings.
• Weld from a variety of positions to obtain proper strength and appearance.
• Participate in meetings, projects, and activities in support of company and team goals.
• Maintain proficiency in relevant knowledge skills and in the use of equipment applicable to the position.
• Communicate (verbal and written) with customers, engineers, management, and technicians.
• Understand and apply appropriate policies and procedures relevant to the position.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes.
• Examine completed workpieces for defects.
• Setup and operate fabricating machines.
• Water jet cutting experience preferred.
• Work independently with minimal supervision.
• Perform other tasks within the scope of this position.

Requirements:

• Previous welding and metal fabricating skills preferred.
• Experience welding using Tig & Mig equipment.
• Experience with breaks, shears, and other metal forming tools preferred.
• Experience utilizing basic hand tools.
• Ability to follow blueprints and layout specifications.
• Experience welding steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and their alloys.
• Must pass a welding test.
• Familiarity with calipers, tape measures, and other standard measuring equipment.
• Experience using forklifts, cranes, and the physical ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• CAD/CATIA experience required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Basic math skills and ability to interpret the metric system.
• Ability to maintain welding and related equipment.
• Ability to locate and mark work-piece bending and cutting lines.
• Positive manner of performance, team player, good written and verbal communication skills.
