Job DescriptionJob Description

 

We are hiring a Medical Assistant to join our team at Restorative Pain Medicine. We specialize in Interventional Pain Management to treat the underlying causes of pain. The Medical Assistant will provide patient-focused care under the direction of the Physician and/or Advanced Practitioner.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and prepare patients for the Practitioner

  • Take and Record patient vital signs, and note areas of concern in patient's electronic medical record (Modernizing Medicine)

  • Complete documentation for patient's charts: by obtaining diagnostic studies (e.g., imaging and labs); reviewing current medications, dosage schedule, noting any allergies each visit.

  • Collect, prepare, and send out laboratory specimens, e.g., urine/oral drug screen samples.

  • Assist the providers during in-office ultrasound and fluoroscopic guided procedures.

  • Explain to the patient the specific pain management procedure they are having and obtain consent forms.

  • Check phone messages regularly and return all phone calls by the end of the day.

  • Monitor Clinical Messages by effectively communicating to the Provider (s) and relaying associated responses back to patients.

  • Assist in obtaining prior authorizations from insurance companies for our patient's medications.

  • Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

  • Strong ethical and moral character reference

  • Previous experience as a medical assistant is preferred but willing to train the right candidate

  • Strong Team Player

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Veterans encouraged to apply

  • Full or Part Time-Hours can be flexible (Monday-Thursday)
