Our client, a dynamic, family-owned company with over 70 years of excellence in asphalt pavement manufacturing and construction, is looking to hire a Project Manager for their Anacortes/Bellingham Division. Position Overview: We are seeking a full-time, exempt Project Manager based in Anacortes, with expertise in estimating and managing municipal and heavy highway construction projects, both as a prime and subcontractor. This role offers a challenging and rewarding environment for those eager to build upon a rich history of success.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent technical training and/or experience.
- Five years of experience in asphalt paving or construction industry estimating and project management.
- Strong math and computer skills.
- Community leadership and involvement are a plus.
- Ability to travel locally as needed.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen (including marijuana) and possess an acceptable driving record.
- Full-time, in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain productive client relationships throughout the construction process, from bidding to completion.
- Prepare cost estimates and proposals for asphalt paving construction jobs for private and public entities.
- Collaborate closely with contractors, state and local municipalities, inspectors, and customers.
- Actively participate in local government and community affairs.
- Be prepared for periodic long hours, night work, local travel, and weekend work.
Ideal Candidate Will:
- Promote safety in all aspects of project bidding, planning, and execution.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, problem-solving, issue resolution, decision-making, and organizational skills.
- Be a self-starter with effective time management abilities.
- Have expertise in analyzing specifications, proposals, plans, and other documentation to prepare cost estimates for asphalt paving projects.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with customers and employees.
- Strive to improve customer satisfaction continually.
- Have a passion for sales and relationship-building.
- Have a proven track record of preparing thorough, accurate, and timely estimates for public and private sector projects, including bid document preparation and clear written proposals and correspondence.
Wage & Benefit Information:
- Salary range: $85,000 to $125,000, typically starting between $85,000 to $100,000 based on experience, education, qualifications, and location.
- Comprehensive benefits package for full-time employees, including medical with prescription coverage, HSA/FSA, dental, vision reimbursement, Life/AD&D, LTD, 401k (with employer matching and discretionary Company Profit Sharing contributions), 128 hours of PTO, extended illness time, EAP, wellness program, and seven paid holidays.
