Job Description

Scahill Law group is a prominent Insurance Defense firm in Bethpage NY. We are seeking a FULL TIME BOOKKEEPER/Admin Assistant. We are seeking a motivated and experienced individual that can handle accounts receivables and payables, bank deposits and admin tasks to support Accounting Director. Must be willing to work in office, detail oriented and accurate with strong organizational skills. Knowledge of QuickBooks & Excel a plus.

Essential Functions

- Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and entering into accounting and billing software systems

- Paying Vendor Invoices

- Verifying accuracy of business and billing accounts including Court receipts and Flat Fee payments

- Managing Employee expense claims and recording travel time and expenses in billing software

- Assist Billing Manager with financial and billing reporting for accountants and management

- Communication: Ability to communicate effectively with staff, clients and vendors using the spoken and written word

- Accuracy: Mathematics skills for accurate record keeping

- Attention to Detail: Requires careful attention to detail and thorough completion of work tasks

- Multi-Tasking and Organizational Skills: Ability to manage one’s own time and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to a fast paced work environment and changes in workplace

- Computer Literacy: Familiarity with spreadsheets, databases and accounting software such as QuickBooks, Excel and MS Office.

- Administrative Skills: Organization, planning, filing

- Dependability: Requires being reliable, responsible, dependable and able to fulfill obligations timely.
