Montessori Teacher

Job Summary: As a Montessori Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can develop at their own pace, guided by the principles of Montessori education. You will facilitate learning experiences that promote independence, critical thinking, and a love of learning among students.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Management: Organize and maintain a prepared environment conducive to learning, including arranging materials on low shelves accessible to children and creating areas for different activities such as practical life, sensorial exploration, language development, mathematics, and cultural studies.
Individualized Instruction: Observe each child's interests, strengths, and developmental needs to tailor lessons and activities accordingly. Provide one-on-one or small group lessons as needed, allowing children to progress at their own pace.
Curriculum Implementation: Design and implement a curriculum based on Montessori principles, incorporating hands-on, experiential learning activities that encourage exploration, problem-solving, and creativity.
Assessment and Progress Tracking: Regularly assess each child's progress and development, maintaining detailed records of their achievements and areas for growth. Communicate with parents/guardians about their child's progress through formal conferences and informal updates.
Classroom Community Building: Foster a sense of community and respect among students, encouraging collaboration, empathy, and social skills through group activities and conflict resolution strategies.
Hourly pay will depend on prior experience working with children, montessori certificates, or college education in child development.
