Tax Manager

Our client is a leading accounting and professional services firm serving clients nationwide. We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Remote Tax Manager to join our team. This position offers the flexibility to work remotely from San Francisco, California, while collaborating with our dynamic team of professionals across the country. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax accounting, excellent leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional client service.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of tax professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the successful delivery of tax services to clients.
- Oversee the preparation and review of complex tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and other entities, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Conduct tax research and analysis on various tax issues, staying current with changes in tax legislation, regulations, and rulings.
- Provide strategic tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities to minimize tax liabilities, optimize tax structures, and achieve their financial goals.
- Assist clients with tax compliance matters, including tax audits, appeals, and negotiations with tax authorities.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for tax-related inquiries and services.
- Collaborate with other service lines within the firm, including assurance, advisory, and wealth management, to provide integrated client solutions and cross-selling opportunities.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation, client presentations, and networking events to expand the firm's client base and service offerings.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in taxation, participating in professional development activities and continuing education programs.
- Uphold the firm's values and professional standards, promoting a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA designation required.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in tax accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory role.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, including individual, corporate, partnership, and international taxation.
- Strong technical proficiency in tax compliance, tax planning, and tax research tools and software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members to achieve their full potential.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues in a remote work environment.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, virtual setting.
- Commitment to upholding professional standards and ethics in accordance with AICPA and state CPA society guidelines.
- Experience with remote work technologies and collaboration tools, such as video conferencing, project management software, and cloud-based document management systems.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
