Florida Design Consultants, Inc. is a Civil Engineering, Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Land Planning, and Environmental firm looking for a Civil Engineering Project Engineer to fill a full-time position in Pasco County.

You will lead designing and engineering land development projects that include office & commercial sites, single-family & multi-family residential sites, and retail development sites. You will need to understand the project scope of work, budget, and schedule for maintaining control of a project from beginning to completion while ensuring the project is completed within budget and on schedule. You will be expected to focus on communication with the client during the course of the project and maintain a relationship that fosters repeat business.

Typical Project Types:

Land and Site Development Projects which include paving, grading, drainage, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer systems, storm sewer systems; Urban Roadway Systems; Rural/Highway Systems; Sidewalks & Shared-Use Paths.

Requirements:

  • Actively seeking professional engineering registration (or obtained within 1 year)
  • Ability & drive to direct/lead engineering designers & technicians
  • Ability to keep projects on schedule & on budget
  • Engineering design of Land Development Projects
  • Experience with Utility Design, Site Grading, Storm Water Management Systems, Zoning Research, and Permitting Research
  • Excellent communication skills, proficient writing skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong client/agency management skills

Responsibilities:

  • Site design for commercial, residential, and industrial developments; greenways and parks
  • Design for storm drainage systems, water & wastewater systems, roadways, and soil erosion control
  • Coordinate permitting, administration of bidding, construction administration & observation
  • Ability to work within a team-oriented environment
  • Mentoring and development of junior staff
