PLAINTIFF’S PERSONAL INJURY EXPERIENCE OF AT LEAST 5 YEARS.

Litigator that can handle his/her own caseload and docket without oversight or supervision beyond collaborating on case strategy.

Job Description

  • Plans case development by studying case information and conferring with other attorneys;
  • Research law, utilizing precedent and reasoning
  • Persuasive Writing; writing motions, briefs, and appeals
  • Manage cases by monitoring schedules; expediting requirements; obtaining and forwarding information
  • Helps clients by initiating and maintaining contact, preparing clients to answer discovery, and keeping clients informed of case status.
  • Support attorneys at trials and hearings by organizing evidence and exhibits, taking notes, scheduling witnesses, and discussions.
  • Strong writing and legal analysis skills
  • Strong Texas litigation experience
  • Technologically/IT intense environment/Must be “tech-savvy”
  • Position will be required to make Court appearances, attend depositions, draft pleadings and discovery
  • Present Plaintiff for deposition
  • Take/conduct fact witness deposition
  • Issue/answer discovery
  • Caseload is high value/low volume

The following are non-negotiable requirements:

1. Extraordinary work ethic and attention to detail

2. Expert Deposition experience (taking and presenting)

3. Witness deposition experience (taking and presenting)

4. Pleading preparation experience (Complaints/Petition, Motions, etc.)

5. Brief writing experience

6. Party and third-party discovery experience (preparation and response)

7. Federal Court experience

The following requirements are imperative, do not apply without meeting each of them:

  • Highly organized
  • Serious focus on work with an understanding of the highly important nature of legal practice
  • Must be able to handle a high-pressure environment
  • Attention to detail imperative
  • High level of organization
  • Tech savvy/paperless environment comfortable
  • Must be a self-starter; little to no training provided
  • Must be able to handle and review files from intake to appeal without supervision
