Sharan Builders, Inc. is a fully licensed, insured, and bonded general contractor serving the states and the city of New York. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Project Manager to assist the project manager in overseeing several projects of variable sizes and complexity from inception to completion, maintaining a schedule, site safety, project tracking and reporting, managing communication with the client, subcontractors and field staff management, and preparation and tracking of change orders. You must be a multi-tasker with excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills, You will collaborate with various departments and agencies, and you will monitor each phase, ensuring the staff works efficiently and that the final product meets our client’s expectations.

Assistant Project Manager Duties and Responsibilities

Ability to keep track of all projects assigned and knowledge of the status of each project and its projected completion.

Oversee all daily field operations to ensure proper site safety, construction, progress, and quality control.

Maintain project schedule and coordinate field sequencing, attend schedule review meetings, preparation of weekly two-week look ahead.

Proactively schedule and coordinate workforce and subcontractors to ensure completion of the project in accordance with the project schedule and to ensure no additional costs are required for completion of work.

Knowledge of equipment and materials used for projects assigned is essential. Must be able to place orders with various vendors for equipment and materials, keep track of orders, and coordinate deliveries.

Manage RFIs from creation, suggestions on solutions, and track progress through completion and closeout.

Prepare cost estimates to present to the client for any change order work, submit for approval and negotiation, and track change order for completion of work and payment by the client.

Maintain and develop all project files including but not limited plans, specifications, changes in scope or specifications, clarifications, as-built documents, etc.

Prepare, maintain, and review punch list items to ensure all items are addressed and completed in a timely manner.

 

Assistant Project Manager Essential Skills/Requirements and Qualifications:

At least three years of experience in general construction projects with NYC and NYS government projects in the NYC Metro area.

Ability generates quality takeoffs and local knowledge of materials sourcing and pricing.

Proficient in understanding architectural drawings and construction specifications.

Monitor construction progress.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products word, excel, project, Auto Cad, Primavera, and other construction-related programs.

Familiar with construction project delivery methods, sequences, and practices.

Excellent analytical, organizational, and managerial skills.

Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.

High attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

You must have all the proper documentation to work in the US.

Must have a minimum 30 Hour OSHA training.

A valid driver’s license is a must.
