Duties & Responsibilities

The Quality Control Inspector (Compressors) is responsible for ensuring that our clients reciprocating compressors and built/refurbished and installed correctly and to the appropriate standards. The responsibilities of this position include:

  • Complete as-built walk down of the compressor package
  • Establish relevant checklists
  • Witness shop functions and run tests of the compressor package
  • Participate in field commissioning and start-up
  • Complete reports and issues to the client upon internal review
  • Communicate with client focal point with project and progress updates, technical questions & inspection findings and deficiencies

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Detailed understanding of Manufacturing Methods and Procedures, Manufacturing Quality, ERP System Utilization, and Information Analysis.
  • Understanding of quality management and measurement.
  • Comfortable with working against established goals and metrics.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent root cause analysis skills
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints (fabrication, machining, and assembly drawings)
  • Experience working with:
    • Reciprocating compressor: API 618
    • Pressure vessels: API 510
    • Process piping: API 570
    • Pipe Flanges and Flanged Fittings: ASME B16.5
    • Pipe Threads, General Purpose: ASME B1.20.1
  • Prior experience with reciprocating compressors (is a must)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • English speaking

Physical & Safety requirements

  • Sitting, bending, standing, walking, 8-10 hours per day.
  • Must comply with all safety and PPE requirements.
  • Exposure with production environment
