At Student Governmental Affairs Program (SGAP), we love our Telemarketer Representatives


Since 1995 National nonprofit, Student Governmental Affairs Program (SGAP), has worked with teachers and schools to expand students' interest and involvement in our government. Fostering enthusiasm in our government at an early age will ensure today’s youth become active participants in our government, whether that be through voting or a number of other ways. SGAP is currently active in all 50 states and has 200,000 students in the program annually.


SGAP is currently seeking a competitive, passionate and performance-driven sales professional to make outbound fundraising calls to businesses. When you join the SGAP telemarketing team you'll receive training with commission and multiple bonuses. NO nights or weekends, this is a position worked Monday - Friday between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm calling on existing clients. This is a remote position as an Independent Contractor 1099.

Responsibilities:

  • Schedule qualified appointments with prospective clients
  • Educate prospective clients on products and services
  • Resolve client inquiries and complaints
  • Maintain record of client contact information
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned


Telemarketing Representative Skills and Qualifications:

  • Self starter
  • Competitive, passionate and energetic personality
  • Previous experience in telemarketing, telesales, customer service, or other related fields
  • Membership sales experience is a PLUS
  • Excellent communication skills. LISTENING SKILLS ARE A MUST
  • Ability to build rapport quickly over the phone
  • Able to build relationships with staff and customers/donors
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to get results in a performance-based sales environment
  • Not afraid of rejection.
  • Coachable
  • Ability to learn and utilize learned material to accomplish job goals
  • Proficient in PC operations (windows, email, etc.)
