Tax Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Tax Manager with 5 years of experience to join our dynamic accounting firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation and planning, particularly with small to mid-size business clients. This role involves managing and delivering a range of tax services in compliance with laws and regulations within a time frame. The Tax Manager will ensure the firm’s clients receive the best tax solutions and advice tailored to their specific needs.

 

Tax Manager Job Responsibilities

· Oversee and manage the tax return preparation process for various entities including corporations, partnerships, and individuals.

· Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes.

· Identify and mitigate tax risks.

· Coordinate and communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.

· Manage and mentor a team of tax accountants.

· Stay up-to-date with current tax laws and changes.

· Handle IRS and state tax audits.

· Prepare and review complex tax returns.

· Develop and maintain strong client relationships.

· Assist in the development and implementation of new tax strategies.

 

Tax Manager Qualification

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required.

· 5+ years of tax experience in an accounting firm, working primarily with small to mid-size businesses.

· Experience with CCH ProSystem and Axcess is highly desired.

· Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax codes and laws.

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Strong leadership and team management skills.

· Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

· Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
