Harvest Preparatory Academy is a public charter school serving PreK-12. HPA is dedicated to providing students a dynamic academic program of student-centered instruction in a college preparatory setting. We are currently accepting applications/resumes for a part-time International Visa Paralegal.


Position Overview:
As an International Visa Paralegal with a specialization in J1, H1B, and Green Card visas, you will play a crucial role in supporting our incoming and current employees through the complex visa application process. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess excellent communication skills, and be adaptable to changing immigration regulations.

 

Responsibilities:

-Conduct thorough interviews with international applicants to determine eligibility for a J1 or H1B visa. 
-Prepare and submit J1, H1B, and Green Card visa paperwork to the appropriate visa sponsor or attorney(s)
-Stay current on immigration regulations and policy changes that may impact current and pending visa cases.
-Communicate effectively with applicants, government agencies, sponsors and internal team members to provide updates and address inquiries.
-Assist in the development and maintenance of client files, ensuring all documentation is organized and up-to-date.
-Collaborate with attorneys to review and analyze case strategies.

-Conduct weekly meetings with pending visa applicants to ensure timely submission of required documents in order to ensure efficient progress on their visa case


Qualifications:

-Proven experience as an International Visa Paralegal, with a focus on J1, H1B, and Green Card visas.
-In-depth knowledge of immigration laws, regulations, and procedures.
-Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation.
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
-Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.


Requirements:

-Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Legal Studies, International Relations).
-Previous experience working in an immigration law firm or related field. 

-Must have 2 years' experience working with J1 and H1B visas
-Familiarity with case management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
-Availability for part-time work or as a consultant.
