Excavation Foreman Responsibilities:

·         Making sure all equipment is operating in high functionality, checking fluids daily, greasing machines, checking consumables such as teeth and cutting edges on buckets, making sure machine is getting serviced at proper service intervals. Monitor all tools, equipment, and machinery for needed maintenance and ensure daily/annual maintenance is completed

·         Making sure projects are being completed in the most timely/efficient fashion

·         Making sure quality on job site meets expectations and specifications

·         Making sure safety on the job site is maintained and upheld

·         Overseeing jobsite cleanliness, all trash being picked up

·         Safely mobilizing equipment

·         Active awareness of jobsite, other people on jobsite, and equipment malfunctions

·         Customer relations, this means communicate with customers and other contractors on jobsite

·         Locate all underground utilities before digging, and expose with a shovel

·         Leave the jobsite better when you left than when you got there.

·         Understanding the scope of work to be completed and blueprints

·         Using laser levels and double checking all grade stick hands

·         Good communication with the project manager

·         Use power tools in safe manner

·         Using proper tools for the project being completed

·         Training new laborers and operators

·         Reporting injury or accidents on jobsite involving other people or damaged equipment

·         Track and record all job expenses, including materials, hours worked, overtime incurred, change orders, disciplinary actions taken

·         Proficient heavy equipment operating skills including front end loaders, excavators, and skid steer machinery with various attachments; other construction equipment as needed

·         Knowledge and ability to properly train others on various types of excavation construction equipment such as but not limited to – excavators, skid steers, Bobcat MT, dump trailers, etc.

·         Manage activities and personnel effectively and efficiently on the job site, including but not limited to, coordinating workflow, hands required, and training/operating a variety of excavation tools and machinery

·         Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude

·         Ability to present themselves in a clean and professional manner

·         Ability to prioritize and multi-task

·         Ability to work effectively with individuals of differing knowledge and background (i.e. clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and other designers)

·         Ability to repeatedly lift 80 lbs or more

·         Ability to stand, bend, lift and carry a variety of light to heavy items throughout a 10-hour workday

·         Ability to take pride in doing things well and in compliance with company procedures

·         Strives to improve job skills and develop the potential for upward mobility

·         Ability to report to work on time every scheduled day

 

Working Conditions:

·         This type of work is very physically demanding

·         It is outdoor work and can be environmentally challenging with hot to cold temperatures and precipitation

·         Travel is typically within a 5 to 80-mile radius of the office

·         Hours are 7am – 5pm daily (Monday thru Friday)

·         Saturday hours on rare occasion
