Position Summary

The Quality Technician conducts a variety of inspections, studies, and tests to ensure accurate part quality using qualified gauging, industry standards and specifications, and DSB systems.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

         Metrology & Quality Control

•                  Performs Layouts and Audits of product and processes using a variety of metrology skills in all departments of the facility.

•                  Utilizes effective communication skills to ensure all applicable personnel are aware of pertinent information (includes verbal and                       written).

•                  Conducts Gage R&R studies.

•                  Performs measurements and basic troubleshooting on the CMM, Optical Comparator and other specialty equipment as required.

•                  Conduct process audits as part of the Quality Department.

•                  Reads blueprints and applies concepts of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T) to determine part compliance to the                       print and to determine accurate and appropriate measurement methods.

·        Powder inspection

•                  Set up and operate all applicable test equipment used in inspecting powders.

•                  Record test data and prepare results.

•                  Read and understand all applicable material specifications and compare actual test data to specified parameters.

·        Metallurgical Lab Duties

•                  Maintain LWR records and certifications from outside laboratories.

•                  Follow established procedures for all met lab activities including testing, maintenance and documentation.

•                  Perform or outsource preventative maintenance on Lab equipment.

•                  Communicate results of testing to the requestor.

•                  Maintain a stock of supplies required to perform the metallurgical lab activities.

•                  Provide training support for the floor personnel in use of Density Machines, Macro Hardness procedures, and powder inspection and receiving.

•                  Assist in Research and Development projects.

•                  Supports, promotes, and performs in a manner consistent with continuous improvement goals and the values of DSB Technologies which includes following the policies, procedures, and requirements of our Quality Management and IS0 14001 Environmental Management Systems.

•                  Individuals directed by management to operate a vehicle for work purposes will observe the requirements of the Fleet Safety Program.

•                  All other duties as assigned by your supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Knowledge of laboratory equipment, production line test equipment, instrumentation, print ready and safety procedures.
