We are looking for an experienced Optician to join our team We run a busy, efficient and friendly office with two part-time optometrists. The successful candidate will have the knowledge & commitment to provide excellent customer service and help educate our patients select the appropriate frames, lenses & lens enhancements for them. Our patients expect fast, friendly service and attention to detail. Knowledge of VSP, Superior Vision, EyeMed insurance plans and a minimum of 1 year of optician experience is required. This is a Full-Time position (40 hours per week). We are looking for an individual who has a passion for patient care, works well in a team environment and has a good work ethic.

We are located in small friendly Davis. Employees are responsible for their own transportation and there is free parking. We do have dedicated bike parking and are easily accessible by the city bus line.

Responsibilities/Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assisting and educating patients with the selection of eyeglass frames, lenses and lens enhancements
  • Ordering glasses from the appropriate labs
  • Verifying jobs from the lab
  • Dispensing, repairing and adjusting eyeglasses
  • Thorough knowledge of insurance benefits & be able to explain benefits & insurance coverage
  • Placing orders for patients and maintain frame & contact lens inventory
  • Lens edging & finishing
  • Contact Lens training & dispensing
  • Pre-test patients including: autorefractor, visual field, Optos imaging
  • Assist in other administrative duties as needs by the office manager and/or doctor
