Serenity Home Healthcare is looking for Homemakers to join our team in our Rockford, IL region Homemakers (sometimes called "Caregivers") are an integral part of the client home care plan and are responsible for planning and following a daily care schedule with clients, modifying care plans as prescribed by medical professionals, and reporting on any new conditions or needs that may arise. The ideal Homemaker is patient, empathetic, and has strong people skills, as well as observant and committed to making clients feel safe and comfortable.
Responsibilities
- Enables clients to stay in their homes by monitoring and recording patient conditions, providing support and personal services.
- Updates notes on observed changes in patient condition.
- Supports clients by providing housekeeping and laundry services, and preparing meals.
- May be required to assist clients by providing personal care services, such as bathing, dressing, feeding and grooming.
- Records patient information by making entries in the patient journal and notifying nursing supervisors of changing or unusual conditions.
- Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy patient environment by following asepsis standards and procedures, maintaining security precautions, and following prescribed dietary requirements and nutrition standards.
- Adheres to the professional standards and policy of the home care agency and all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Generate trust and appreciation for agency services by accepting ownership for finding ways to add to quality of services.
- Providing companionship and entertainment to clients by reading, talking, and listening to the individual, upon request.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- The ability to follow instructions but also to think independently.
- Proficient report writing skills and organizational skills.
- Empathy and a personable manner.
- Physical fitness and mental strength.
- A valid driver’s license or reliable transport.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay starting at $17.00/hour
