Summary: The Mental Health Specialist/LCSW/LMSW promotes the mission of the organization in assisting individuals with serious mental health conditions across their lifespan to improve their function and satisfaction in environments of their choice. Qualifications:

 

· Must be a Licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LMSW)

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

· Computer skills with the ability to use technology in the delivery of care.

· Strong knowledge of addiction treatment and recovery.

· Must be able to work as a team member cooperatively.

· Must complete a criminal background investigation.

· Complete professional development activities as required.

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule including some evenings.

· Attend meetings and educational activities.

· Utilized evidence-based resources to develop and implement psychiatric rehabilitation and addiction counseling processes .

 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

 

· Develops Individual Rehab Plan (IRP) and assures that rehabilitation services meet the needs of the individuals served by the program in accordance with COMAR 10.63.09 and the Accreditation Organization (The Joint Commission Standards).

· Oversees programmatic infrastructure that supports rehabilitation and addiction counseling services daily.

· Provide clinical oversight to unlicensed rehabilitation coordinators (direct care staff) .

· Educates direct care staff on how to provide rehabilitation services that correlate to the goals identified in the individual's IRP or ITRP.

* Provide individual  therapy to clients in outpatient and community based programs.

* Develop treatment plans

* Complete biopsychosocial evaluations

* Complete insurance authorizations

* Attend Clinical review and staff meetings.
