Case Aide

In accordance with the Agency’s mission statement, policies and procedures, professional Code of Ethics,
State of Michigan licensing, and COA standards, the Foster Care Case Aide is responsible for assisting all
aspects of the Foster Care Program functions, in the capacity of support providing behavior intervention
techniques for children and supporting various foster care case management required services.
TASKS OF THE POSITION
Case Management
• Create a welcoming environment and facilitate positive relationships with potential or existing foster
care family members.
• Assist with the creation of binders for Foster Care and Adoption case files.
• Ensures that the F-Drive is updated.
• Makes copies of forms and packets as needed.
• Case Filing.
• Monitors parenting time visits on campus when necessary.
• Assist case workers with transportation as needed.
• Upload documents into MiSACWIS system
• Assist Foster Care Program Coordinator in maintaining areas of program compliance
Foster Parent Orientation and Training Services
• Case Filing.
• Upload documents into MiSACWIS system.
• Assist with the creation of binders for orientation and training.
Other
• May provide Foster Child and Family Support Services as assigned including but not limited to
transportation for the birth family parenting visits and sibling visits, coordinate and transport foster
children to appointments such as medical and dental appointments, parenting and sibling visits,
court appointments and therapeutic services.
• Assist foster care supervision with audit preparation.
• Stays informed of current practice developments within the profession and uses educational and
training opportunities to ensure continual professional competence.
• Plans and organizes work to meet all requirements according to agency and COA standards,
licensing and funding requirements.
• Prepares for and participates in individual meetings, team meetings, and other agency meetings.
• Performs all other duties as required or requested by the Program Director.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Must possess a reliable source of transportation to be used in the transport of foster children to
necessary appointments.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends (typical workday is from 10:00
am to 6:30 pm.
• Demonstrated ability to interact positively in a culturally diverse client population and work
environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer skills.
• Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication. Skills.
• Ability to successfully pass medical and physician stamina examinations, according to licensing and
contract requirements.

None
QUALIFICATION (EDUCATION / TRAINING)
Minimum Required:
• High School Diploma/GED equivalent and two years of experience working with children in child welfare.
• One or more years of working directly with children within a child welfare agency and relevant experience
in counseling children and adults.
Preferred:
• Associates degree in human service discipline and one year of experience or more working with children
in child welfare.
