We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience handling long galvanized tubing and will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement, storage, and loading of our products. Key Responsibilities:

- Operate forklifts to move, load, and unload long galvanized tubing and other materials.

- Ensure the accurate placement and secure storage of materials in designated areas.

- Inspect forklifts daily before use to ensure they are in proper working condition.

- Adhere to safety protocols and company policies to prevent accidents and injuries.

- Assist with inventory management by tracking material movements and reporting discrepancies through our inventory software fishbowl.

- Collaborate with warehouse staff and management to optimize workflow and efficiency.

- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring aisles and work areas are free of obstructions.

- Perform routine maintenance on forklifts and report any mechanical issues promptly.

- Assist in other warehouse duties as assigned, including packing, machine operation, labeling, and shipping tasks.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Valid forklift operator certification/license.

- Proven experience operating forklifts, specifically handling long or over-sized materials.

- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures related to forklift operation and material handling.

- Ability to read and interpret work orders, shipping documents, and safety guidelines.

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and operating a forklift.

- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

- Previous experience working with galvanized tubing or similar materials.

- Basic mechanical skills for performing minor forklift maintenance.
