Director of Finance and Administration

The Harriett Buhai Center for Family Law is seeking a knowledgeable Director of Finance and Administration interested in working at a nonprofit social justice organization. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, the Director of Finance and Administration oversees all financial and administrative operations at the Buhai Center.
Key Features of this Job:
- Develop and implement financial strategies, processes, and procedures;
- Supervise the Buhai Center’s Accountant and serve as staff liaison to the Oversight Committee of the Board of Directors;
- Manage all government grant management and compliance, including budgeting, expense allocations, reporting, and audit responses;
- Oversee all administrative aspects of human resources, technology, and operations.
Essential Job Qualifications:
- Certified public accountant, or degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a related field with emphasis in Accounting; OR a minimum of four years relevant work experience with comparable responsibilities and required skills;
- 2+ years of experience in a legal services nonprofit performing a finance, administration, and/or grant management role;
- Broad knowledge of financial management systems, non-profit accounting, budgeting and financial planning, and government grant compliance;
- Excellent administrative skills and experience;
- Strong reasoning abilities and problem-solving/negotiation skills, sound judgement, and well-organized with good communication skills;
- Proficient in accounting software, Microsoft Office Suite (SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint);
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Passion for social justice and the mission and vision of the Buhai Center.
Start Date: ASAP
Position: Full-time, Exempt
Salary and Benefits: $100,000 to $120,000 commensurate with experience. Benefits include: medical, dental, and vision insurance; voluntary employee retirement plan; paid vacation and holiday leave; reimbursed travel and educational expenses; professional development.
Location: Hybrid; Office in Los Angeles/Koreatown
