Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Management: Assist in managing personal injury cases from intake to settlement or trial, ensuring all deadlines and legal requirements are met.
  • Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research on relevant case laws, statutes, and regulations related to personal injury claims.
  • Document Preparation: Draft, review, and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, subpoenas, and settlement agreements.
  • Client Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing updates and gathering necessary information and documentation.
  • Medical Records: Obtain and review medical records, bills, and other relevant documents to support personal injury claims.
  • Court Filings: Prepare and file legal documents with courts and government agencies as required.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist attorneys in preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials, including organizing exhibits and coordinating witnesses.
  • Administrative Support: Perform general administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, maintaining case files, and managing calendars.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field. Paralegal certification preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Paralegal, with a focus on personal injury law.
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of personal injury law and procedures.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.
    • High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong client service orientation and ability to maintain confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with trial preparation and courtroom procedures.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and understanding of medical records related to personal injury cases.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
