Job DescriptionJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Assistant to join our team at the RI Training School. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys varied tasks and has a hands-on approach to workplace challenges. No specialized licensures or educational background beyond a high school diploma is required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

·         Light Maintenance: Replace light bulbs, reset circuit breakers, and perform simple plumbing tasks to address leaks.

·         Ground Maintenance: Manage the upkeep of outdoor areas, including mowing lawns, shoveling snow, and general landscaping.

·         Transportation: Responsible for the safe and efficient transport of vehicles within the premises.

·         Painting: Assist in various painting tasks as needed to maintain the aesthetic and structural integrity of the facilities.

·         Contractor Assistance: Provide support to contractors on-site to ensure that all projects are completed in accordance with our standards.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

·         Proven ability to handle a variety of tools and equipment safely and effectively.

·         Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

·         Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with staff and contractors.

·         Physical ability to perform manual tasks and work in various weather conditions.

 

Additional Notes:

This is a hands-on, 'handyman' type position that requires a practical and proactive approach to maintenance and repair tasks.
