Position Summary: Primarily responsible for servicing commercial security products including intrusion, access control, video, and fire systems.

General Purpose: Product service, installation, and programming

Role qualifications: Must have the ability to work collaboratively with all departments.

Position Responsibilities

·       This skilled position involves installing, programming, troubleshooting, configuring, commissioning, and servicing Fire Alarm Systems, Access Control, and CCTV Systems as well as other related building system products at customer sites including panel repair/reprogramming, device replacement/repair, resolving low voltage circuit troubles and system testing.

·       Organize and effectively utilize technical resources, information, material, and support to assure efficient execution of all assigned tasks.

·       Installing cabling and programming of fire alarm, security, and access control system panels, but will primarily focus on networked fire alarm systems. Perform installation/programming on integrated security and fire alarm systems.

·       Utilize a digital multi‐meter as a tool for troubleshooting ground faults, shorts, and open circuits on fire alarm systems.

·       Respond to customer service calls in a timely and efficient manner, troubleshoot, and repair as needed.

·       Will be required to participate in an after‐hours on‐call program on a rotational basis.

·       Communicate with central dispatch on current work order status and receive updates on outstanding customer issues.

·       Supervise and inspect the installation of equipment to meet customer and contract specifications.

·       Complete necessary certification courses on internal and external products used

·       Complete and submit all required task‐related, activity, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.

·       Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, and specifications. software/systems, programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.

Additional Skills and Qualifications

·       Experience with programming, troubleshooting and repair of these brands (not all inclusive): Genetec/RS2 /Access; S2/ Lenel/American Dynamics/Software House/Autocall/Siemens/Telecor

·       Service all other manufacturers

·       Minimum 3‐5 years electronic system or Information Technology experience

·       Degree in Electronics, Information Technology, or equivalent experience

·       Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·       Strong computer skills, software aptitude and electronics background

·       Must be highly organized ‐ Demonstrated success managing multiple tasks

·       Install, inspect, and maintain fire alarm systems in accordance with local codes and regulations

·       Troubleshoot and repair fire alarm systems and related equipment; conduct regular testing and inspections of fire alarm systems to ensure proper functionality

·       Knowledge of fire alarm systems, including installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance

·       Familiarity with power tools and other equipment used in the construction industry

·       Strong problem‐solving skills and attention to detail

·       Excellent communication and customer service skills

·       Ability to work independently and as part of a team
