Description:
Essential Job Functions:Be willing to learn how to prepare Federal, State, and Local Income and Franchise Tax Returns, including collecting and analyzing financial data, calculating book/tax differences, and preparing supporting work papers.
Facilitate deliverable exchanges between SMS and external service providers, one of which will be a heavy focus in the months of May-AugustBe willing to learn how to prepare the monthly tax provision.Interface with Accounting / Finance / Treasury and Client tax employees concerning tax-related matters.Be willing to reconcile financial and tax accounts.Participate in special projects as assigned.Communicate orally and in writing with tax authorities.Gather documentation and provide analysis.
Education/Qualifications:Working toward a B.A./B.S. in Accounting – rising junior preferredExperience with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word) required.Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat or comparable software
