Job DescriptionJob Description

Rogers Behavioral Health is thrilled to announce a full-time opening for a Housekeeper on the 1st shift at our Oconomowoc Campus.

Responsibilities include servicing all facility buildings, general housekeeping duties, and infection control (approximately 80% of job duties).

Schedule: Day shift hours with a once-a-month weekend rotation.

Professionalism:

  • Comply with Environmental Services and Hospital-directed dress code, maintaining a professional appearance.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Follow all directions of the Environmental Services Manager or Director.
  • Comply with Hospital policies and procedures, including Safety, Employee Health, and Rogers Improvement System (RIS) programs.
  • Communicate respectfully and professionally with all patients, staff, and visitors.
  • Begin shifts on time and be prepared for job responsibilities.
  • Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when working with chemicals or machinery/power tools.
  • Comply with the on-call policy and maintain availability during scheduled on-call periods.

Multidisciplinary Function:

  • Assist staff with patients.
  • When requested, assist in patient room searches.
  • Assist in the training and orientation of staff under the direction of the Environmental Services Manager or Director.
  • Assist in the development and function of multidisciplinary performance improvement projects.
  • Document completed work using an established system.

General Housekeeping:

  • Provide complete cleaning and sanitation of designated areas, including bathrooms, offices, day rooms, group rooms, bedrooms, and other patient/resident areas.
  • Provide deep cleaning of patient/resident rooms after discharge, including changing all bed linens and towels.
  • Sort and transport clean linens to linen storage areas throughout the facility, keeping linen storage areas clean and stocked.
  • Transport dirty linen from units to laundry pick-up areas.
  • Gather and dispose of recyclable materials appropriately.
  • Gather and dispose of trash, transporting it to the dumpster.

Additional Job Description:

Education/Training Requirements:

  • High School Diploma strongly preferred; GED preferred.
  • Advanced vocational or technical education strongly preferred.
  • Previous cleaning experience in a hospital setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of specialized cleaning equipment strongly preferred.
  • Continuing education in specialty areas required.
  • Experience in the mental health field preferred.
