We are looking for a dynamic Controls Project Engineer to join our Innovative Engineering team for the design of controls for custom machines, induction power supplies and new product development projects.

The electrical and controls engineer is responsible for specifying the HMI, PLC and I/O design elements, programming, debugging and manual documentation preparation required to develop induction heating systems.

Description of work:

  • Programming, design and specification of control systems that move and orient parts to be processed in our Induction Heating Systems.
  • Program, Configure and Debug control systems PLCs, HMIs, computers, relays, servo drives, sensors, pneumatics, etc.
  • Design control systems for new products.
  • Create custom PLC/HMI software.
  • Work with minimal supervision to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Ensure that the electrical performance, safety, and reliability of our systems are “Best in class”.
  • Test equipment on the integration floor – consisting of power checks, and installing/testing PLC/HMI software
  • Generating support documentation including operator’s and maintenance manuals
  • occasional travel to customer job sites


Qualifications:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • 2 to 10 years design and test of custom machines.
  • Experience specifying/programming Allen-Bradley PLC/HMI
  • 2 to 10 years design and test of custom machines.
  • Knowledge of standards [e.g. CSA, CE, UL, ANSI, NEC, ASME, etc.] a plus
  • Must have excellent technical writing and oral communication skills.
  • Robotics Experience a plus
