Job Title: Part-Time Political Candidate Canvasser

Location: Durango, Colorado
Compensation: $22/hour
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
Doors: 250-300 doors per week
Position Type: Temporary/Part-Time ending Nov. 5th

About the Campaign: Vivian Smotherman is a passionate advocate for the people of Senate District 6, representing the needs and values of our community. Our campaign is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of all residents across the district, including the diverse and vibrant community of Alamosa. We are building a grassroots movement and need dedicated individuals to help us connect with voters on a personal level.

Job Overview: As a part-time canvasser for Vivian Smotherman’s campaign, you will play a crucial role in directly engaging with voters in your community. Your primary responsibility will be to knock on doors and have meaningful conversations with constituents about Vivian’s vision and platform. This is a vital part of our effort to ensure that every voter feels heard and informed.

Key Responsibilities:

-Knock on 250-300 doors per week within Alamosa and surrounding areas of Senate District 6.
-Engage in face-to-face conversations with voters to discuss Vivian Smotherman’s platform, listen to their concerns, and answer questions.
-Distribute campaign literature and materials.
-Collect information on voter interests, concerns, and priorities.
-Accurately record data from your interactions with voters.
-Represent Vivian Smotherman’s campaign in a professional and respectful manner at all times.
-Attend weekly check-ins and team meetings to report on progress and share feedback.

Qualifications:

-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
-Comfortable speaking with a wide range of people.
-Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
-Reliable transportation to travel within the district.
-Passionate about local politics and the issues affecting Senate District 6.
-No experience necessary—just a willingness to learn and a commitment to the campaign's mission.
-Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
