Veterinary Technician

A veterinary technician is the veterinarian's primary medical support. They begin the examination process and continue to assist the doctor throughout the examination, diagnosis and treatment phases. A veterinary technician also assists in restraining patients and running tests.
The right candidate for this position must:
* Be capable of providing compassionate care to patients and clients.
* Be capable of conducting oneself in a confident and professional manner, even when stressed and/or focused on individual tasks.
*Be capable of helping keep accurate medical records.
*Be capable of performing physical assessments and recording observations legibly in the clinic's computer system for medical records.
*Be capable to effectively restrain pets, despite size or difficulty.
*Understand all common vaccinations/protocols and is able to explain to clients.
*Be capable of maintaining positive relationships with co-workers
*Be capable of giving SQ, IM and IV Injections
*Be capable of performing successful venipuncture (jugular, cephalic and saphenous)
*Be capable of successfully placing IV Catheters and understands the proper care for them.
*Be capable of handling client's medical questions with confidence.
*Be capable of preparing estimates for procedures and discuss financial commitments with clients
*Understand necessary follow up and home care instructions after discharge
*Understand usage, dosage and common side-effects for commonly used prescription drugs and is capable of explaining these instructions to the client
*Be capable of properly caring for all equipment, using lab machines, x-ray machines
*Be capable of assisting and handling emergencies, emergency procedures such as control of bleeding, resuscitation etc.
*Be able to multi task
Position availble is for full time, Pay is depended on experience and certification
