Product Designer – Software

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Norfolk, VA, with the “designer” focus being on operational function rather than artistic form.

This role will report directly to the CEO with responsibilities to the Director of Product. The ideal candidate will have a proactive, trailblazer mindset, and enjoy leading functional design of new development initiatives. Product design experience is helpful, though not required.

Candidates should be driven and capable of quickly understanding a variety of client business workflows, translating that understanding to proofs-of-concept and testing.

Primary duties of this position include daily meetings with the CEO, active collaborative communication with various stakeholders to design, scope, and help lead projects through to successful completion.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Writing specifications based on client and internal requirements
  • Coordinate and perform functional testing
  • Daily real time reviews with lead developers
  • Spearhead new product implementations & internal/external training
  • Work with QA on testing, prepare initial write-ups for documentation
  • Work with training team on internal and client documentation
  • Active manage immediate 12-month product road map
  • Coordinate active Dev project progress, reporting to/from CEO
