Job Title: Electrical Construction Foreman

Location: Norfolk, VA 

Job Type: Full-Time

Summary: The Electrical Construction Foreman oversees the daily operations of crews on designated electrical projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and quality standards. This role encompasses both supervisory responsibilities and direct involvement in skilled commercial tasks.

Essential Functions:

  • Supervise and plan field crew and electrical activities, including determining construction methods, staffing levels, and material requirements.
  • Coordinate assigned tasks with various trades, company departments, and contractors while upholding schedule integrity and productivity.
  • Direct on-site teams to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and project timelines.
  • Execute a diverse range of skilled electrical tasks as required.
  • Act as a liaison with management to ensure timely procurement of materials, equipment, and inspections.
  • Collaborate with supervisory and engineering staff, inspectors, and suppliers to address construction challenges and enhance efficiency.
  • Monitor adherence to project safety protocols and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in equipment setup and operation.
  • Fulfill additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • Possess 5-10 years of electrical experience in commercial construction.
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively lead and supervise a team of at least 10 workers on a daily basis.
  • Possess extensive knowledge of electrical codes and standards.
  • Exhibit previous experience in planning, scheduling, and managing construction resources.
  • Familiarity with generating man-hour and job cost reports, as well as worker forecasting.
  • Strong aptitude for creating prefab drawings.
  • Ability to interpret design drawings, specifications, and contractual documents.
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Display capability to comprehend and execute complex instructions.
  • Demonstrate advanced proficiency in cost control practices.
  • Ability to multitask, work autonomously, and resolve problems effectively.
  • Hold a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must successfully complete post-offer pre-employment drug screening and may be subject to additional background checks.
  • Adherence to all company policies and procedures is required.
  • Availability to report to multiple job sites as assigned.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

  • Work may be performed in varied temperatures, indoors and outdoors, including adverse weather conditions.
  • Exposure to moderate to high noise levels and airborne particles may occur.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces or at heights may be necessary.
  • Utilization of construction equipment and tools is routine.
  • Physical tasks such as climbing, bending, lifting, and prolonged standing/walking may be required.

Travel: Occasional travel may be required (typically not overnight).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • First Aid/CPR certification.
  • Forklift/ mini excavator certification.
