Job DescriptionJob Description

The candidate would be engaged mostly on the defense side of civil litigation and defend large-scale entities, professional- and general-liability claims, primarily in tort and civil rights claims. The candidate could expect to litigate commercial, election, or administrative matters too. This individual will also work closely with Litigation Partners and other associates. This person could expect to have a hands-on litigation desk, involving discovery, taking/defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and attending hearings. This person will also enjoy direct client contact, as well as interaction with witnesses and court personnel. This individual must possess IN bar licensure. Base-salary would be based on the candidate. Bonus structure. Health/IRA. Past civil jury trial experience will be noticed. Lewis And Wilkins's growing collaborative civil litigation group is well-known in the Indiana litigation community having tried over 30 jury trials in the last two decades on civil matters including construction defect, defamation, wrongful death, big truck, TBI, and land use with amounts in controversy routinely $1M+.

Salary for 0 years of litigation experience starts at $72,500.00, plus a production-based bonus structure that realistically can reach up to $10,000+/year.

Salary for 1 year of litigation experience starts at $76,000.00, plus a production-based bonus structure that realistically can reach up to $10,000+/year.

Salary for 2 years of litigation experience starts at $80,000.00+, plus a production-based bonus structure that realistically can reach up to $10,000+/year.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in court or before government agencies
  • Prepare and draft legal documents on behalf of client
  • Negotiate settlements
  • Comply with all legal standards and regulations
  • Perform administrative and management functions related to the practice of law

​​Qualifications: Indiana Bar (passed or pending)

  • Passed the Indiana Bar
  • Previous experience is preferred but first year lawyers may be considered
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to build rapport with clients
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
