Manning, APC is passionate about engaging with communities and clients to shape transformative architectural and planning projects. We are a respected architecture, interior design, and planning firm with 38+ years of experience in the United States and beyond. Headquartered in New Orleans with offices in Dallas and Washington, DC, our talented team brings our clients' visions to fruition. We are seeking a Controller to work with our financial team who values loyalty and humility and has a high aptitude for technology. This is a hybrid position with weekly reporting to our D.C. office.
Key Responsibilities
Working in collaboration with our finance associate, firm principals, and CEO, you will be responsible for:
- Manage bank accounts, reconciliations, and credit card payments
- Manage insurance applications and software renewals
- Prepare monthly financial statements and year-end closing documents
- Prepare monthly invoicing, including FAR-compliant invoices for federal clients
- Manage collections
- Set up project budgets for labor, consultants, and expenses
- Set up and manage data in Unanet system
- Maintain revenue projections
- Manage tax reporting documents and coordinate with outside accountant
- Complete quarterly tax returns
- Manage IRS tax amendments (employee retention tax credits, 179D)
- Manage federal regulation compliance
- Manage check requests
- Process bi-monthly payroll and taxes
- Manage monthly expense budget
What You Will Bring
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- CPA or MBA in finance is highly desirable.
- 5 years minimum accounting experience in the Architecture, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry.
- Located in the Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland area and able to commute.
- Proficiency in Unanet and Deltek Ajera.
- Enthusiastic learner who enjoys taking on challenges and offering solutions.
- Effective communicator and team player.
