Job Description : The Evening Coordinator is under the direction of the President, Program Administrator and RN Supervisors of maintaining safety and security in the Second Family locations. S/he works closely with the Quality Assurance Department, House Coordinators and Operational Managers to address any safety/ procedural concerns that occur in the locations. S/he may confront issues of policy, safety or security, as well as work in conjunction with other staff to assist in times of emergency or crisis. Evening Coordinator will randomly view the CCTV system and communicate frequently with the House Coordinators and Operational Managers throughout the night to ensure that s/he are informed of what is happening in the locations. The Evening Coordinator will be responsible for, but not limited to:


  • To operate and monitor all systems, in a professional and efficient manner.
  • To ensure integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained by compliance with quality standards while preserving the rights of the individual.
  • To communicate with the President, Program Administrator and RN Supervisors and members of staff to ensure that all safety/ procedural concerns are addressed.
  • To record all events and actions taken in a clear, legible and accurate written format. To provide an efficient and professional response with all enquiries.
  • To report equipment failure to the site supervisor to maximize operation of the system
  • Attend mandatory in-service training and staff meetings as scheduled
  • Work collaboratively with other members of the health care team in coordination of the clients care as evidenced by other department feedback.
  • Ensure safety and security of individuals during evening shift hours.
  • Ensure that staff is following assigned task for evening shift across all locations
  • Ensure that staff are engaging the individuals at mealtime and activity time
  • Act as liaison between Supervisor, House Manager and evening shift staff. ·
  • Maintain a working knowledge of essential policies and procedures.
  • Support evening shift with the purchasing of supplies for the home as needed to include food, clothing, and household necessities.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of Second Family, Inc. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values as well as follow all legal requirements in implementing duties according to policies and procedures. The employee shall support Second Family, Inc.’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the performance improvement plan.

EDUCATION and TRAINING

  • High School Diploma
  • Valid registration as a Nursing Assistant in the State of Maryland
  • Completion of Nursing Assistant Technician program

LICENSES and OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Obtain and maintain current First Aid and CPR certificates
  • Maintain valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

EXPERIENCE:

  • One year experience as a nursing assistant in an acute or long-term care facility.
