Job DescriptionJob Description

Reporting to the Manager, Network Infrastructure, the IT Senior Network Engineer is responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to Saia/LinkEx computer/Network systems 24/7. 

This is an onsite position, contract to permanent role for the right candidate. 

 

Responsibilities

 

· Leads the performance of day-to-day networking tasks to ensure a reliable and available network

· Perform escalated troubleshooting for network issues

· Leads in the configuration of firewall security and overall network access

· Leads network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware, software, and integration testing

· Oversee networking architecture in datacenter and remote locations

· Manage all SLAs

· Planning and solution discussions with multiple vendors

· Monitor and maintain schedules for all required system and firmware updates

· Communicate with customers of all updates

· Serves as the first point of contact for Saia leadership to discuss problems and determining the best solution

· Identify all unresolved issues and escalate to leadership

· Performs additional duties as required

 

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related, or equiv. work exp.

· 4+ years of experience as Network Engineer

· 4+ Year of Cisco Troubleshooting Experience

· CCNP certified or higher (CCIE highly valued)

· Excellence in both written and verbal communications

· Strong organization and project management skills

· Strong Layer 2-7 understanding

· Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed

· Willingness to travel

· Good knowledge of Internet security and data privacy principles

· Excellent troubleshooting skills

· Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
