AMP is looking for a reliable person to work as a furnace operator on our 2nd shift. Primary hours for 2nd shift are 3 PM to 11 PM, usually Mon-Fri but often 6 or 7 days/week. If you have some of these skills, that's great. If not and are willing to learn, we will teach you.
- Understanding the fundamental operation of the heat treat furnaces, temper furnaces, and atmosphere generators.
- Reading, understanding, and accurately following work order instructions and other documents.
- Operating and inspecting a forklift truck safely and accurately.
- Loading and unloading customer trucks at the shipping or receiving dock.
- Loading and unloading batch furnaces and initiating part processing (including computerized recipe entry).
- Recognizing when processing equipment is not functioning properly and notifying the proper personnel, in a timely fashion, and helping to develop corrective action if possible.
- Recognizing when equipment is in need of adjustment or repair and being able to make minor repairs, and reporting and recording (logging) those events.
- Assisting in the start-up/shut down process.
- Assisting in furnace and generator burnout procedures.
- Signing off on completed process steps, both on the hard copy of the work order and in the computer software copy of the work order.
- Communicating with incoming shift personnel to advise and alert them as to issues, priorities, and other pertinent information that they may need to perform their job functions properly.
- Red-Tagging and Quarantining material that is Non-Conforming or is suspected to be Non-Conforming and notifying the proper personnel of the actions and the reasons for the actions.
