Pediatric practice serving the Mount Dora community providing compassionate care for our patients.
The role of the Certified Medical Assistant is vital to our small practice. A successful candidate will be able to:
-Prepare patients for examination, intake, and scribe.
-Assist physicians during treatment/procedures, examinations, and testing of patients.
-Prepare, restock, and sterilize examination rooms, procedure, rooms, lab area, and all other patient care areas per established policies and procedures.
-Record patient’s medical history, health, maintenance, and reason for each visit.
-Measure, record, and document vital signs.
-Where applicable administer injections/vaccines, and other specimen collection per established policies and procedures as directed by the provider
-Educate patients by providing information and instructions as directed by the provider by answering questions, etc.
-Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with all legal and HIPAA regulations
-Assist as front office staff to schedule, take messages, answer, and return calls, liaise with providers, patients, and insurance companies.
-Represent the office in a professional manner treating all coworkers and customers, and a courteous and cooperative manner.
The qualified candidate will possess the following:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At minimum, 1 year experience as a medical assistant in a medical office
- CMA-Certification by the AMAA required at the time of hire to be maintained and active at all times (evidence required)
- Current CPR and/or BLS certification or the ability to attain the certification within 30 days of employment
- Working knowledge of medical terminology
- Demonstrated ability to administer injection/vaccines
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a deadline-oriented manner
- Strong, verbal and written communication in English
- Written communication skills
- Ability to use a computer, electronic medical records application, and enter data
- Ability to obtain and maintain BLS certification in MA certification from an approved entity within the first 90 days of employment
- Ability to reliably commute
- Strict adherence to schedule

Job type: Full-Time
Pay: $16-$18 per hour
Benefits: Paid time off, 401K
Schedule: One hour lunch break
Monday: 8:00 AM to 5 PM
Tuesday: 8:00 AM to 5 PM
Wednesday: 8:00AM to 6 PM
Thursday: 8 AM to 6 PM
Friday: 8 AM to 3 PM
