Roles and Responsibilities:

As a Maintenance Specialist, you will perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery to ensure timely repairs, optimal performance, and safety. This role requires technical expertise in diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical issues and strong organizational skills to manage maintenance schedules and documentation.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and downtime and address hazards or potential risks.
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical problems with machinery throughout the building.
  • Perform necessary repairs or replacements to resolve issues promptly.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment performance.
  • Work with external Contractors and Vendors for more complex repairs or specialized services.
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, utilizing proper PPE at all times.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices for maintenance and safety.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance logs, records, and reports.
  • Document all repairs, replacements, and maintenance activities in the maintenance management system.
  • Provide regular reports on maintenance activities and any issues to the Maintenance Manager.

Training and Development:

  • Train with external Vendors and Contractors while assisting with more complex repairs.
  • Stay current with advancements in maintenance technology and techniques.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in the Ceramic Industry preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in maintenance, with mechanical and electrical maintenance expertise.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills are required.
  • Proficiency with maintenance tools, equipment, and software.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in various physical conditions.

Working Conditions:

  • The Maintenance Specialist will work in an industrial environment with varying temperatures.
  • The position may involve exposure to machinery and chemicals.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, gloves, and masks may be required.
  • The position may involve working in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
