Supervising Pharmacist

We are looking for a Supervising Pharmacist to join our team You will be responsible for dispensing drugs prescribed by physicians and other health practitioners.

Responsibilities:

• Compound and dispense prescribed medications
• Advise physicians and health practitioners on the interactions and side effects of medications
• Provide patients with pertinent drug information
• Proactively review prescriptions for proper dosage
• Supervise and maintain records of all medications

• Previous experience in pharmacy or other medical fields
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Strong organizational skills

• The role involves overseeing pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with pharmacy laws and regulations, supervising and mentoring pharmacy staff, and most importantly, ensuring that patients receive safe and effective medication therapy. The Supervising Pharmacist will promote team building and collaboration, and will work closely with the Pharmacy Manager and other departments as needed. 

  • A Pharm.D or B.S. in Pharmacy from an accredited school of pharmacy

  • A current license in good standing to practice pharmacy in New York State

  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a retail/community pharmacy (negotiable) 

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment

  • Thorough knowledge of pharmacy laws and regulations

  • Familiarity with computer systems and pharmacy software, including prescription processing and inventory management

  • Experience with immunization administration

  • Experience with multidose packaging and/or long-term care is a plus

  • Ability to navigate insurance companies, and monitor cost/fees
