Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately coding and billing medical procedures and services. Your role will contribute to the financial success of our medical practice by ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement from insurance companies.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to accurately assign appropriate codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services using ICD-10, and other coding systems
• Enter coded data into billing software or electronic health record (EHR) systems
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies electronically or by mail
• Follow up on unpaid or denied claims, resolving any coding or billing issues
• Communicate with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers regarding claim status and payment discrepancies
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality
• Charge posting
• Must have knowledge and experience involving all Blue Cross Plans

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience as a Medical Biller or in a similar role
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical office procedures
• Proficient in using medical coding systems CPT and ICD-10
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing processes
• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software
• Effective communication skills to interact with insurance companies, patients, and healthcare providers
