Job DescriptionJob Description

Mason helper/laborer perform tasks involving strenuous physical labor under sometimes adverse field conditions at construction projects. They may operate a variety of hand and power tools, clean and prepare sites, erect scaffolding, clean up rubble and debris and remove waste materials. WE OFFER PART AND FULL TIME POSITIONS.

Essential Responsibilities & Functions:

• Performs a variety of tasks involving manual labor in construction projects
• Supports mason and tuck-pointers
• Mix mortar, cut brick and other masonry units.
• Set up project sites
• Performs grinding, tuckpointing, caulking, and/or other masonry tasks. Uses equipment and tools properly and safely to perform basic construction tasks
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule. Ability to work safely on scaffold and swing stages at various heights
• Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed
• Bring problems to the attention of the Foreman, Safety Director or Human Resources

Knowledge Requirements:

• 1-2 years work experience as a construction, mason, or carpenters laborer preferred
• Experience with two or more strongly preferred. High school diploma or GED certification preferred
• Some knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies used in construction work required
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel required
