Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Irrigation Department Manager to oversee all aspects of our irrigation/lighting department. The ideal candidate will be knowledgeable about irrigation systems, landscape lighting, water management practices, and landscape design principles. They will be responsible for managing a team of irrigation technicians, ensuring the efficient and effective installation, maintenance, and repair of irrigation systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead, manage, and mentor a team of irrigation technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and customer satisfaction.
- Project Management: Plan, schedule, and coordinate irrigation/lighting projects, including installations, upgrades, and repairs, to meet client deadlines and budget requirements.
- System Design: Collaborate with landscape designers and project managers to develop irrigation system designs that align with client needs, site conditions, and sustainability goals.
- Installation Oversight: Oversee the installation of irrigation and landscape lighting systems, ensuring proper equipment selection, placement, and functionality, while adhering to industry standards and best practices.
- Maintenance and Repair: Implement preventive maintenance programs and troubleshooting protocols to identify and address issues with irrigation systems promptly, minimizing downtime and maximizing system efficiency.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Develop and manage departmental budgets, track expenses, and optimize resource allocation to maximize profitability and minimize waste.
- Compliance and Regulations: Stay informed about local regulations, water conservation initiatives, and industry trends related to irrigation practices, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and guidelines.
- Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding irrigation-related inquiries, concerns, and requests, maintaining positive relationships and providing exceptional customer service.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, technology upgrades, and training initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency, productivity, and innovation.
- Safety and Quality Assurance: Enforce safety protocols, equipment maintenance standards, and quality assurance measures to promote a safe working environment and deliver superior results to clients.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in irrigation system design, installation, and management.
- Strong leadership skills with proven experience in team management and development.
- Extensive knowledge of irrigation equipment, techniques, and technologies.
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Irrigation Association Certification (preferred).
