SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

The role of the I.T. Manager is to ensure continued systems availability and support the companies I.T. needs and requirements. The I.T. Manager plans, executes, and finalizes local projects according to strict scope, time, and budget constraints set by Regional or Group IT. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors or consultants to deliver projects according to plan.

The I.T. Team works closely with the North America Regional and group I.T. Management

 

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Daily operations:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the local IT team, ensuring all systems run smoothly and efficiently
  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
  • Implement IT policies and procedures to improve team productivity and project outcomes
  • Create and maintain documentation of configuration and processes
  • Support and maintain systems, infrastructure and server architectures: desktop, communications, remote access, security, building access and management
  • Lead local disaster recovery and business continuity planning and execution to minimize downtime and data loss in case of system failures.
  • Usage of the global incident and change management solution.
  • Work with end users and department heads to identify and document required service levels. Work to meet service level agreements with end users
  • Evaluate vendors and recommend for purchase infrastructure hardware and software products
  • Participate in local and global meetings when required
  • Develop, monitor and manage budgets – Capital & Expense

 

Team Development

  • Coach and maintain a strong customer focus
  • Encourage a positive attitude and work environment
  • Provide training and support to team on all required I.T. topics & infrastructure issues
  • Maintain excellent communications with management and the user community
  • Provide guidance to junior members of the team as required.

 

Projects

  • Direct and manage project development and implementation from beginning to end
  • Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
  • Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
  • Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business or Computer Science or relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of industry experience
  • Proven Project Management experience
  • Experience coordinating and facilitating meetings
  • Experience coaching others
  • In-depth knowledge of and prior experience using Microsoft’s Office 365 suite of applications (Excel, Word, Access)
  • Prior experience using a Collaboration Tool (e.g. SharePoint for document management & sharing)
  • Some local and infrequent international travel may be required.
  • On-call availability should be minimal but may be required
  • Some weekend and off-hours may be needed based on projects
  • Understanding/exposure to working in a shared services model
  • Ability to work across teams, groups and functions and to build strong relationships
