Job Summary
We are seeking an outgoing and motivated Cashier to join our team The Cashier is the face of our restaurant and plays an integral role in our customer’s dining experience. You will build rapport with customers, answer questions about the menu, and take accurate orders. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, a quick-learner, attention to detail and has knowledge of cash register operation. 
Responsibilities 
  • Greet each customer with a smile and assist with menu questions
  • Work the register to ring up food and beverage orders from customers
  • Collect payments by cash and/or credit and issue correct change (if necessary)
  • Provide accurate orders to the kitchen staff via our state-of-the-art POS system
  • Participate in product promotions, initiatives, and up-selling to drive sales
  • Maintain a solid knowledge of menu items to assist customers with their selections
  • Maintain the cleanliness, organization, and stock or your station
  • Vacuum rugs, mop floors, scrub, clean glass and empty trash cans when necessary
  • Wipe up spills and other hazards with mop and broom
  • Must be able to carry up to 50 lbs. of weight to restock certain items
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by management throughout the shift
Qualifications
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule
  • Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Previous cashier experience as is preferred, but not necessary
  • Ability to read, count, write, and communicate clearly and effectively
  • Willingness to work well in a team environment and follow instructions from supervisors
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and lifting up to 50lbs
  • Familiarity with food safety guidelines or ability to complete IL Food Handlers Cert. within first 30 days of hire
