Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Summary: The Superintendent is responsible for overseeing and managing electrical contracting projects on-site to ensure they are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves coordinating with project managers, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure all project requirements are met. The Superintendent will lead the on-site team, manage resources, and maintain effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:


1. Project Management:
  • Oversee all on-site aspects of electrical contracting projects from start to finish
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement detailed project schedules and work plans.
2. Team Leadership:
  • Lead, supervise, and motivate the on-site team, including electricians and subcontractors
  • Conduct regular team meetings to communicate project goals, expectations, and progress
  • Provide training and mentorship to team members as needed.
3. Resource Management:
  • Coordinate and manage the delivery and use of materials, tools, and equipment on-site
  • Monitor and control project costs to stay within budget.
  • Ensure proper documentation and reporting of labor, materials, and equipment usage.
4. Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications.
  • Identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all installations and work performed adhere to company and industry standards.
5. Safety Management:


  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on-site.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Address and rectify any safety concerns or violations immediately.
6. Communication and Coordination:


  • Maintain effective communication with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide regular updates on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Facilitate coordination between different trades and subcontractors on-site.
7. Documentation and Reporting:


  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including daily logs, progress reports, and change orders.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on project status to the project manager.
  • Document and report any incidents, accidents, or delays.
Qualifications:


  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical contracting or construction supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in construction management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • OSHA certification or equivalent safety training preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Physical Requirements:


  • Ability to work on construction sites, including standing, walking, and climbing.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and environments.
Work Environment:


  • This position primarily involves on-site work at construction locations.
  • Frequent travel to and from job sites is required.
  • Work hours may vary depending on project needs and deadlines.
