Job Overview:

The Regional District Office of one of the nation’s leading multi-line insurance companies seeks a qualified and experienced Commercial Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the commercial insurance marketplace and will be responsible for interacting daily with agency owners and their staff, providing guidance on commercial products, marketing, risk management, and other valuable information to support their business success. The Commercial Specialist will oversee the commercial performance of agents in the district and contribute to the overall growth and development of the agency network.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong working relationships with agency owners and their staff.
    • Serve as the primary contact for agents regarding commercial insurance matters.
  • Consultation and Strategy Development:
    • Consult with agents to develop effective sales and growth strategies.
    • Aid in the creation and implementation of marketing initiatives tailored to commercial products.
  • Mentorship and Training:
    • Mentor and coach agents by providing comprehensive training in commercial products, marketing techniques, and sales processes.
    • Conduct regular training sessions to ensure agency staff are knowledgeable and up-to-date with the latest commercial insurance practices.
  • Sales Support:
    • Collaborate with agency owners on renewals, new proposals, and various sales-related initiatives.
    • Work closely with the underwriting team to ensure seamless processes and adherence to underwriting principles.
  • Performance Monitoring:
    • Communicate regularly with the district team to provide updates on sales goals and production performance.
    • Analyze and report on the commercial performance of agents within the district.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of Commercial Insurance experience.
  • Property & Casualty license required.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to adapt approaches to achieve optimal outcomes based on different personalities.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze both quantitative and qualitative data effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize a changing workload.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Successful background check.
  • Proficiency in computer use.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

Compensation:

  • Competitive salary with experience from $65,000 to $72,000, plus bonus.
