Job Summary: 

The Fleet Assistant will assist the Fleet Manager and mechanics in their ability to perform maintenance and repairs on vehicles and equipment.  

Duties/Responsibilities: 

  • Review driver’s daily inspection reports; 

  • Completing purchase orders; 

  • Coordinate vehicle plates and stickers; 

  • Review and update WEX gas cards; 

  • Receive and review driver’s alert updates; 

  • Provide complete administrative support services for the Fleet Department; 

  • Manage our annual registration renewals, truck inspections for entry and exit from the company; 

  • Entering vehicle & equipment moves and new purchases; 

  • Adding updates to vehicle tracking and repair software; 

  • Managing of titles and documentation of used equipment acquired by the company; 

  • Title work, Registrations, Plating of fleet equipment; 

  • Ordering of parts, tools, equipment; 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Required Skills/Abilities:  

  • Must demonstrate ability to work effectively in a team environment; 

  • Must prioritize in a fast paced multi-task environment; 

  • Must demonstrate integrity and professionalism; 

  • Above average proficiency in Microsoft Office and database work; 

  • Must build positive working relationships with multiple levels of employee and management; 

  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; 

  • High level of accuracy is expected; 

  • Accounting background is a plus, but not required; 

  • Must possess excellent organizational skills; 

  • Knowledge of medium duty to heavy duty truck and equipment is a plus; 

  • Must demonstrate commitment to company values; 

  • Must follow-up on tasks and assignments in a timely manner; 

  • Must comply with all operating policies, procedures, executed Plans, and Programs; 

  • Must think strategically, make sound decisions, and produce accurate and timely results; 

  • Must work with minimal supervision. 

 

Education and Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

  • Related experience preferred. 

 

Physical Requirements:  

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present. 

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. 

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.  

  • Must have a clean driving record
