Position Overview: The Tool Stores Specialist will be responsible for efficiently managing the non-production material (NPM) inventory and ensuring the seamless operation of our tool storage facilities. This role involves monitoring inventory, handling discrepancies, coordinating with various departments, and supporting World Class Manufacturing (WCM) initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management:

    • Monitor NPM inventory daily, weekly, monthly, and annually to identify opportunities to reduce float, increase inventory turns, dispose of inactive material, and identify trends in high theft, scrap, or loss conditions.
    • Update activity classes as required and explain any inventory increases.
    • Collaborate with the Maintenance and Controllers Office to properly dispose of excess and obsolete materials.
    • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including negative balances, and implement corrective actions.
    • Process inter-plant transfers and shipments as needed.
    • Review open order reports and manage the receipt and disposition of inventoried materials.
    • Confirm receipt of materials by reviewing invoices.
    • Log and resolve non-conformances from material receipts with suppliers.
    • Interface with third-party providers regarding inventory requests or issues.
  • Tool Store Requests (TSRs):

    • Review TSRs and repetitive buys from the prior day to validate orders based on usage and activity, cancelling any unnecessary orders.
  • World Class Manufacturing (WCM):

    • Support WCM activities through daily housekeeping reviews, 5-S checks, and by initiating and implementing Kaizens.
    • Participate in WCM Pillar committees as required.
  • Training and Support:

    • Assist in training plant personnel on creating Request for Material (RFM) and Tool Store Requests (TSRs).
    • Support Order Processing & Control (OPC) with ordering and follow-up issues.
  • Cycle Counting:

    • Assist in all cycle count activities to support monthly audit requirements.
    • Work with counters and service provider employees to root-cause count variances and implement corrective actions.
    • Provide NPIC system access as required.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree (Required)
  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 2 years of Warehouse Supervisory experience (Required)
    • Minimum of 2 years of Manufacturing experience (Required)
    • Experience in a Union environment (Preferred)
  • Skills:

    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills (Required)

Work Schedule:

  • Shift: 6 AM to 2 PM, Days
