We are seeking part-time Shoppers to ensure that businesses are performing identification checks when selling age-restricted products.

Pay starts at $22.00 per hour plus mileage reimbursement, with a very flexible schedule. Perfect for college students

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED/equivalent
  • Must be of legal age to purchase age-restricted products in New York
  • Able to convincingly portray someone of college age
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Outstanding observational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow specific guidelines and instructions
  • Reliable and discreet in maintaining anonymity during visits

Age Verification Shoppers play a crucial role in assessing and ensuring the implementation of proper identification checks within retail establishments. As a Mystery Shopper, you will anonymously visit stores and evaluate the effectiveness of their age verification processes, particularly for the sale of age-restricted products such as alcohol or tobacco.

Key duties:

  • Store Visits: Conduct visits to assigned retail locations without revealing the purpose of the visit to store staff.
  • Age Verification Assessment: Carefully observe and document the store's adherence to age verification policies when customers attempt to purchase age-restricted items.
  • Documentation: Record detailed observations regarding the interaction between store staff and customers, with a focus on the verification of identification documents.
  • Compliance Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports highlighting areas of compliance or non-compliance with age verification procedures.
  • Maintain Anonymity: Preserve the mystery shopper's anonymity throughout the evaluation process to ensure accurate and unbiased assessments.
  • Adherence to Guidelines: Follow specific guidelines and criteria provided by the hiring organization to maintain consistency in evaluations.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with the hiring organization, reporting findings promptly and accurately.
